Birds on Cannock Chase

We spent a few hours on the Chase, watching the birds again at the weekend which was very enjoyable. Here are a few from the day:

  1. The nuthatch and bullfinch are particularly stunning pics.Always happy to see a bullfinch.
I maybe wrong but we do not seem to have nuthatchs on the isle of Wight although over the water in the new Forest they are common.
Very nice photos I must say.

  2. Fabulous images! Nuthatches abound up in the Lake District but catching them is something else!
Love the bluetit! What lens did you use and do you know what settings?

Thank you ~ Nuthatches are very quick! I use an 80-400mm lens and the settings were ISO 640 (it was dull) F5.6 which gave me 1/320th shutter speed. You are a little spoilt on Cannock Chase because they come in to feed :)
